Finance Director

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Devenish Nutrition is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Finance Director to join our team. This financial leadership role reports to the President and is responsible for streamlining administrative, accounting and financial processes. The Finance Director will also ensure compliance to internal controls while leading and developing the admin, accounting and finance team while also being the primary liaison with our corporate legal, tax and audit services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. Oversee finance team to ensure day to day financial activities relative to accounts receivable, accounts payable and fixed assets are performing efficiently.
• Responsible for the analysis, reporting, and control of financial information to help plant leaders measure performance, improve operating costs, analyze capital expenditures and contribute to achieving cost and return on investment goals
• Plan and develop controls to forecast production performance related to expectations, including labor performance, ingredient and packaging material usage while working closely with Supply Chain team to balance optimal inventory levels against operating costs and efficiencies.
• Assist in preparation of reports to President, including: costing, forecasts, expense, income and various other reports.
• Monitor the organization's cash flow to ensure adequate funds are available to meet operational needs. Balancing the cash flow across all North America operational needs.
• Manage communications and information transfer for annual audit and tax requirements, while also being the primary contact for corporate legal matters.
• Advise President on financial matters, providing recommendations for operational improvements and efficiencies. Asist President with risk management, including maintaining company exposure data, reporting of claims and point of contact with broker.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directly supervise assigned employees while carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees.

QUALIFYING SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or business related required.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of financial management.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of relevant financial laws and regulations.
• U.S. work authorization (Required).
• Systems: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and ERP utilization experience.
