Human Resources Manager


Devenish Nutrition is searching for a dynamic Human Resources Manager to join our team! This position will manage & support the day-to-day Human Resource duties including compliance, employee engagement, new hire orientation, benefits, and payroll for the entire company, with physical locations in Minnesota, Iowa and Georgia. This position will act as a confidential resource to employees, supervisors, and managers regarding employee relations questions and issue resolution.

  • Develop innovative recruiting strategies and programs; manage recruitment advertisements and ad placements.
  • Prepare offer letters, and formally extend job offers to applicants.
  • Manage and conduct new hire orientation.
  • Ensure company is compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Educate employees on benefit options that are offered by the company.
  • Administer benefits to include new hire enrollments, terminations, open enrollment, and benefit changes throughout the year.
  • Maintain workers compensation, leave of absence and OSHA department records and reports.
  • Complete unemployment and verification of employment forms.
  • Provide guidance to managers on process, writing and conducting employee performance reviews and disciplinary action.
  • Develop, recommend and implement human resources policies, procedures, documentation, and HR forms.
  • Create new job descriptions and ensure existing ones are up to date and compliant.
  • Maintain employee handbook with updates as required.
  • Administer and maintain highly confidential employee information, documents and record keeping; maintain Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and compiles reports from database.
  • Respond timely to employee questions regarding policies, procedures, benefits, or any HR related topic.
  • Partner with Management team to investigate and address employee concerns or complaints.
  • Meet with employees upon termination, completing exit interview and processing termination paperwork.
  • Oversee bimonthly payroll.
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Directly supervise assigned employees while carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or business related required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a Human Resources role preferably in manufacturing environment.
  • SHRM certification (or similar) highly desired.
  • U.S. work authorization (Required).
  • Systems: Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRIS systems preferred.
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach.
