Operations Training Manager

Operations Director

Position Description:

The Operations Training Manager will develop and coordinate implementation of training programs for the purpose of enhancing the knowledge and skills of the organization's operations employees. This position will have an indirect role over all USA locations, but will have a detailed direct involvement with selected locations. This position will work alongside Plant Managers, Regulatory & Quality Managers and the Operations Director. This position requires knowledge of feed manufacturing processes.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop an operations training program centered around production processes, quality initiatives and safety standards.
  • Directly and indirectly ensure operations staff are trained on all relevant areas of need for their role.
  • Review training records periodically and evaluate employees' training requirements; confer with department managers to determine training requirements for their departments.
  • Coordinate with management to ensure training and development plans are aligned with organizational strategy
  • Over time, create documented training protocols, including training manuals, and any other educational materials for employees.
  • Coordinate with safety consultants to identify areas that extra attention or extra training frequency should be implemented.
  • Ensure other operations managers are knowledgeable of the training program so they can support the training initiatives of the company.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs on a bi-annual basis to determine if changes need to be made.
  • Assist with establishing standards for employee performance reviews. Helping plant managers identify key areas of improvement needs for each employee.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Intimately learn the operations of each facility to be a secondary resource to the Operations Director.
  • Participate and/or lead projects that will delivery efficiency to the overall production process.
  • Any other specific & relevant requests as deemed necessary by Devenish Management.
