Production Manager

Reports to:

Plant Manager

Position Description

Devenish Nutrition is searching for a Production Manager for our Thomson, Georgia production facility.  This position will be on the floor helping manage the production staff to ensure proper production protocols are being performed. This position will support the Plant Manager with routine quality, warehousing, safety and manufacturing functions as well as assisting the plant manager with staffing, training and scheduling operations. Feed manufacturing experience is required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support plant manager with management of production staff, and production activities.
• Assist Plant Manager with daily plant operations.
• Inventory counting and reconciliation
  • Daily cycle counts; critical premix reconciliations
• Perform routine quality assurance functions.
  • Lot code verifications, Facility inspections
• Shipping and Receiving
  • Document preparation, Inbound/Outbound verifications
• Safety responsibilities
  • Assist Safety Coordinator with employee training and follow up
• Serve as the back up for scheduling and managing production.
• General office duties
  • Filing records
  • Preparing production documents
• Machinery operation
  • Forklifts, process equipment, computer operations
• Maintain Compliance with company quality policies, safety standards and good house keeping practices.

Qualifying Skill and Attributes

• Animal feed or premix experience is required
• General knowledge of warehousing, shipping/receiving, production processes
• Computer operations skills
• Desire to learn and follow company policies and procedures
• Self-motivation, positive communication skills and a desire to work as part of a team to achieve
• company goals and objectives.
