BEST NEW PRODUCT AWARD FOR DEVENISH AT AGRISCOT

Progut® Rumen, a unique, patented “3 in 1” hydrolysed yeast from Devenish Nutrition was placed as the top nutrition product and 2nd overall in the AgriScot New Products Competition.

Progut® Rumen has shown many benefits to the producer, with increases in milk yield of up to 1.8 litres per cow per day being achieved, whilst also reducing Somatic Cell Score by up to Log 10 0.24. Further benefits include that the product is not affected by the pelleting process and can play an important role in supporting calves health.
“Trials with calves showed that in the gut, the bioactive cell wall contents, particularly the Betaglucans, supported the immunocompetence of the calf, allowing it to respond quicker to the threat of infection, and led to an improved general health conditions of calves during the neonatal period” added Mr Sheehy, Director of Ruminant Division at Devenish.
It was the first time that Devenish, the leading independent supplier of nutritional solutions to the agriculture industry attended the event, which was held at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh. It follows the company being awarded with the Best New Pig Product Award at this year’s Pig and Poultry Fair in May.
