27th March 2015
Devenish has been shortlisted for the most innovative company category following our win at last year’s awards for best medium sized business
The company’s continuing efforts in developing new innovative products has been recognised by the Aer Lingus Viscount Awards judges. In the past year Devenish has developed DeviGainPG, a unique concentrated protein which among other benefits has improved the growth rate of Pigs by up to 5% while at the same time reducing the amount of soya consumed by the Pig; and Progut, a feed ingredient for dairy cows which increases the milk yield while also improving somatic cell score. DeviGainPG won best new product at Pig and Poultry whilst Progut won top nutritional product at AgriScot in 2014.
Simon Caughey Marketing Manager, Devenish said “Being shortlisted for this award shows the innovative nature of the Devenish business. We were shortlisted based on the four pillars of our innovation pipeline; our strong university links, the skills of our nutritionists and sales people, the structure of the company with regards to our independence as well as the Research and Development facilities we have developed.”
Along with the benefits in the efficiency in the livestock, DeviGainPG and Progut have additional benefits. They reduce greenhouse gas emissions through ammonia, urine and faeces, helping the wider environment.
Devenish has been shortlisted alongside Hunter Apparel Solutions and Specialist Joinery Group in the most innovative company category.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 21st April at the House of Commons.
